History of Maps and Calendars
Course Introduction
∙ Understand the relationship between humans and space and time from an East Asian perspective.
∙ Explore the East Asian perception of space, geography, and time through the creation and use of maps and calendars.
∙ Understand various concepts of map and calendar and space and time, in political, economic, social, and medical contexts.
Learning Objectives
∙ Understand the concepts of time and space from an East Asian perspective and identify how they were used by each period and subject.
∙ Understand the concept of space through the creation of maps, and the concept of time through calendars, and examine them in depth in terms of politics, society, economy, and culture.
Course Structure
This course consists of a total of 8 weeks. The lectures in each week are organized into three to six videos by topic.
